Filetto
Immersed in the tranquility of the Senigallia countryside, Filetto is much more than just a hamlet: it is a place that has breathed history since the Neolithic, preserving traces of a strategic past that saw a succession of Roman and Byzantine settlements. The beating heart of this thousand-year-old memory is the Church of Santa Maria del Filetto, a building with ancient charm linked to the order of the Knights of Jerusalem and custodian of precious historical cabrei that document its importance. The journey through these hills is not only a historical path, but also a visual and emotional one: looking around, one immediately recognizes the geometries of earth and light, the rows and fields suspended in time that inspired Mario Giacomelli’s famous photographs. Descending towards nearby Bettolelle, the experience becomes sensory with a mandatory stop at Cantina Mezzanotte, where the glasses fill with native delicacies such as Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, preparing the traveler for the next stop towards Sant’Angelo.
