Seaside Garden

Seaside Garden

In Marzocca, on the seafront south of Senigallia, stands the Maritime Garden: a unique place, born from an idea by Michelin-starred chef Moreno Cedroni and transformed into a project shared with his family, the Madonnina del Pescatore team, and the municipal administration. A personal dream that has become the heritage of the community.

The Maritime Garden was born from the profound connection between memory, nature and coastal landscape. Cedroni, who grew up between the sea and the family gardens, imagined a space that brought to light the scents and flavours of the Mediterranean scrub that once characterised this area. Numerous aromatic herbs are grown here: from wild fennel to lemon thyme, from paccasasso to borage, also used in the restaurant’s kitchen, restoring an authentic sense of the sea to the dishes.

Designed as a place of well-being, contemplation and encounter, the Maritime Garden was designed to be usable all year round. The lights, designed by Davide Groppi, allow for an evocative visit even in the evening hours, while a sound system enhances the natural sounds of the coast: the lapping of the waves, the wind, the call of seagulls.

The project is part of a broader vision of enhancing the Marzocca landscape, recovering the original spirit of this stretch of coast, which already in the ’50s had inspired far-sighted projects such as those of urban planner Ubaldo Fiorenzi.

Today the Maritime Garden is a small garden on the sea, a place where nature, taste and memory intertwine. A space open to the community, ideal for a stop, a walk, a moment of reflection or simply to enjoy the beauty of the seascape.
